Arno Gelderbloem (email@example.com) is the Professor of Practice in area of Global/World History at History Unit. He is also a Senior Teacher in area of K9-12 at K12 unit of OE Division, NSRIC. Arno obtained a 4-year Higher Education Diploma from Johannesburg Teacher Training College, South Africa, as well as a B.Ed. degree from the University of Johannesburg, South Africa – with Psychology and History the majors. In the year 2020 he obtained the TEFL Advanced Level 5, 260 Hour, certification which provided him with the ultimate Online Tutoring qualification. He also completed a course in Project Management and Financial Management at Wits Business School, South Africa, together with a Wine Marketing course at the University of Stellenbosch, South Africa, in conjunction with The University of South Australia. In support to his academic qualifications, he has 4 Years in Class (Face 2 face) experience (learners aged 15 – 19), 25 Years Corporate Training and Development (learners aged 19 – 25) and over 500 hours Online Tutoring (learners aged 15 – 30) for mainly Asian and European learners.
With his 25 years’ experience in the world of Business, he implemented various turnaround strategies as well as new business startups. The success of his Online Tutoring career has much to do with his teaching style and approach e.g., Patient, Friendly, Engaging, Empathy, Passionate, Focused, Structured and Energetic – to name a few. To stay abreast of global events and happenings he involves himself in various media formats e.g., Newsrooms, daily blogs, and articles of interest. Being a world traveler, he lived in Shanghai (China) as well as Los Angeles (USA), and has a clear understanding of cross-cultural communication together with the challenges thereof as well as how to improve cross cultural communication. To ensure work / live balance he is a keen cyclist and a follows a healthy eating diet 😊.
As an educator, Arno is participating in a Community Project, implementing an English Literacy program for students living in Batam, Indonesia.
