
Dr. America Duran
Dr. America Duran (americad@nsric.ca) is the Distinguished Faculty in Human Rights at the Liberal Arts and Social Sciences Unit of OE Division, NSRIC. She is also a Country Manager (Marketing) for Mexico. Prof. M.A. Duran is the Chief of Publications and Technical Reports at CIC spelled out as Research and Computing Centre at Polytechnic Institute (http://www.cic.ipn.mx/index.php/es/. She took part at the workshops to train the faculty and students members for optimum use of online databases as well as promoting gender equality to prevent violence against women for the employees at the center; Prior to this position Professor Duran was a faculty member in the second largest public University National Polytechnic Institute (IPN) in Mexico, at the School of
C o m m e r c e a n d A d m i n i s t r a t i o n ( E S C A ) ( h t t p s : / /www.escasto.ipn.mx/) of the same institution for more than ten years teaching different courses such as: international business, international marketing, international scenarios, international negotiation skills, Middle East and Asian -Pacific Studies and informatics applications. Prof. Duran worked for one year half as a Director of Business Development at the Economic Mission of the Embassy of Israel in Mexico (https://embassies.gov.il/mexico-city/Pages/default.aspx).
During that position, Prof. Duran assisted and have contact with many Israeli companies in various sectors (agriculture, home land security, consumer goods, etc.). She also worked at Latin American University (UTEL) as an instructional designer and content creator for administration, accounting and business
courses. In her long academic, business, and industry career. Prof. Duran worked at University of Valley of Mexico (UVM), which is part to Laureate International Universities around the world (https://uvm.mx/) where she held several positions: Walden University Coordinator (https://www.waldenu.edu/), Director of International Programs and Coordinator of International Programs. Prof. Duran earned a B.A. in International Trade from University of Valley of Mexico in 1998 where she studied her penultimate semester as a exchange student in Hocking College in International Business, Nelsonville, Ohio, USA and ultimate semester at Sir Sandford Fleming College, Peterborough, Ontario, Canada in International Trade and an M.A. in Administration with a concentration in financial engineering at University of Valley of Mexico 2003. M.A. Duran is currently studying her second Masters degree in Human Rights at Universidad of Tlaxcala and PhD in Human Rights at Universidad de Guanajuato both in conjunction with the National Commission of Human Rights, Mexico.
