
Dr. Anayet Karim
Dr. Anayet Karim (anayetk@nsric.ca) is the Head of Department (HoD) in the area of Electrical and Electronics Engineering at the Engineering Unit of OE Division. He is also the Senior Faculty in Electrical and Electronics Engineering at Engineering Unit of OE Division, NSRIC. Dr. Anayet Karim is working as an Operating Engineer at Cargill Canada, London, Ontario. He has twenty (20) years’ global work experiences based on teaching, research and industry including high pressure steam boilers and ammonia refrigeration systems using both solid fuel & natural gas fired boilers in Ontario. He was a part-time Professor in the School of Power Engineering, Durham College, Whitby, Ontario, Canada. He was a Lecturer in the School of Electrical Systems Engineering, University Malaysia Perlis (UniMAP), Perlis, Malaysia. He received his PhD from University Malaysia Perlis (UniMAP), Malaysia in 2014 and his master’s and undergraduate degree from University Putra Malaysia (UPM), Malaysia and Dhaka University of Engineering & Technology (DUET), Bangladesh in 2005 and 1998 respectively. He also received his Advanced Power Engineering Technology (Mechanical) Diploma from St. Clair College, Windsor, Ontario, Canada in 2015. His research interest is on the development of electrical machines, energy saving and conservation of energy. He has published around 35 papers in refereed journals and conference proceedings in these areas.

He has supervised undergraduate and master students at the School of Electrical Systems Engineering, University Malaysia Perlis (UniMAP), Perlis and University Industry Selangor (UniSEL), Selangor, Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. He is a member of the Institute of Power Engineers (IPE), Ontario, Engineering Intern (EIT) with Professional Engineers Ontario (PEO), Ontario, Canada and Life Member of Institution of Engineers (IEB), Dhaka, Bangladesh.
