
Dr. Mohd Aslam Bhat
Dr. Mohd Aslam Bhat (aslamb@nsric.ca) is the Senior Faculty in area of Sociology at Liberal Arts and Social Sciences Unit of OE Division, NSRIC.
Mohammad Aslam Bhat is an Assistant Professor in Sociology at the Department of Higher Education, Government of Jammu & Kashmir, India. He holds a Doctorate degree & Post-doctoral fellowship in Sociology, with specialisation in Youth Studies. Dr. Bhat has also qualified the Indian National Eligibility Test (NET) and State Level Eligibility Test (SET) for professorship in Sociology. In his 10 years professional career, he has worked at different research and academic institutions in India including University of Kashmir, Lal Bahadur Shastri National Academy of Administration (LBSNAA), J&K Association of Social Workers, Indian Council of Social Science Research. Dr. Bhat has worked as Research Associate in two major research projects sponsored by University Grants Commission of India, at Centre of Central Asian Studies, University of Kashmir. In 2012, he carried out field work in Tashkent, Samarkand, Bukhara and the Fergana Valley of Uzbekistan, researching youth and cultural politics in post-Soviet Uzbek society. He has recently completed a research project: Globalisation & Global Burden of Disease in Young People in Asia, sponsored by ICSSR.Â

In addition, Dr. Bhat has published research articles on various dimensions of youth transitions and youth cultures in several reputable national and international journals including: International Review of Sociology, Asian Social Work and Policy Review, Debatte: Journal of Contemporary Central and Eastern Europe and South Asia Research etc. and has authored two books published by Routledge.
