Prof. Herbert Sukhu (herberts@nsric.ca) is an AVP – Research under RID Division. He is the Distinguished Faculty in the area of Engineering Economics and the Head of Department in the area of Mining and Minerals Resource Engineering at the Engineering (ENG) Unit under OE Division. He is holding the additional position of Continent Director (West Coast Africa and CARICOM Region) at the Marketing Division. 

Prof. Sukhu is a Chartered, Professional, Registered Engineer and Geologist with the British Engineering Council, Bermudian Professional Engineers and Board of Engineering of Trinidad and Tobago. He is also the current owner and Principal Consultant of the Geominex Group of Companies which he founded in 2004. Further to this, he has significant achievements in applied scientific and engineering research of over 35+ years relating to mineral resources research and governance, application of techno-economics, environmental knowledge and expertise in process, petroleum, mining and quarrying engineering and geology. Dr. Sukhu has over 30 publications and presentations with the CDI ACP of Brussels, UNITAR and the Informa Conference Group.
