
Dr. Muhammad Tauhidur Rahman
Dr. Muhammad Tauhidur Rahman (tauhidur@nsric.ca) is the Senior Faculty in the area of Geography at Geology and Geography Unit of OE Division, NSRIC. He is also a Local Manger (Marketing) for Taxes Area. Dr. Muhammad T. Rahman earned his Ph.D. in Geography from the University of Oklahoma. His wide-ranging research interests include GIS and urban remote sensing, vulnerability assessment and disaster mapping, modeling urban vegetation growth, land use and land cover changes, urban growth simulation and modeling, urban heat islands, and lowering energy consumption for sustainable urban growth. He has published over 2 dozen articles in international peer-reviewed journals and conference proceedings. He has received over $3.0 million in research grants from various organizations including NASA, Natural Hazards Center at UC-Boulder, King Abdulaziz City for Science and Technology (KACST), King Abdullah City for Atomic and Renewable Energy (KACARE), and KFUPM. Dr. Rahman has also served as a consultant for the U.S. Department of Justice, U.S. Department of Fish and Wildlife Services, U.S., National Geographic Society, Saudi Arabian Ministry of Social Affairs, and the Arriyadh Development Authority.
