Dr. Sirine Taleb
Dr. Sirine Taleb (firstname.lastname@example.org) is the Associate Vice President in area of Information and Communication Technology (ICT) Unit. She is also the Senior Faculty in Artificial Intelligence at Information and Communication Technology (ICT) Unit of OE Division, NSRIC. Dr. Sirine Taleb graduated as a computer and communications engineer from the American University of Beirut (AUB), Lebanon, in 2012. In 2017, she received her PhD in Electrical and Computer Engineering (ECE) – Machine Learning from AUB. She is a researcher and a university instructor of machine learning and data science courses. She has developed the syllabi and material of data science and machine learning courses to teach students how to build hands-on experience with data manipulation and analysis to finally present impressive results. Her aim is to spread data science knowledge to enhance decision-making activities and transform the workplace into a data driven mini-society. She has published several publications in top-tier journals and conference proceedings including IEEE Transactions. She has delivered lightning talks on data science and machine learning especially after joining the Science to Data Science (S2DS) bootcamp in London in 2018 where she worked with a FinTech company.
Dr. Taleb works as a scientific editor with Cactus Communications. Recently, she has been accepted as a fellow in the competitive Leadership and Development Fellowship (LDF). She has received several awards and grants. Dr. Sirine is part of several national and international women and youth initiatives including IEEE Women in Engineering (WIE) Lebanon Section, National Association for Science and Research (NASR), and Arab Women in Computing (ArabWIC).
When not behind the computer screen, Sirine can be found in playgrounds with her two sons, Karim and Rakan
