
Dr. Swati Tewari
Dr. Swati Tewari (swatit@nsric.ca) is the Distinguished Faculty in area of Chemistry at Science Unit of OE Division, NSRIC. She has worked for over 20 years as a professor, consultant, scientist, research manager as well as a postdoc and research fellow at various institutions/universities including Max-Planck Institute of Molecular Physiology, Dortmund, Germany; City University of New York, NY, USA; University of Alberta, Edmonton, Canada; University of Calgary, Canada; and Amity University, Noida, India. Dr. Tewari has taught as a professor in Dawson college, Montréal and Sheridan College, Brampton, Canada and Amity University, Noida, India. Some of the subjects that she taught at the undergraduate and graduate levels include Chemistry, Chemical Sciences, Environmental Sciences, and various areas in Management domain. Dr. Tewari has worked on drug discovery and design as antiparasitic, antibacterial and pain killer agents, pharmaceutical management, environment management, life cycle analysis of emerging oil sand technologies, carbon capture and storage and published several research articles in peer reviewed journals. Dr. Tewari holds a PhD degree in Organic Chemistry from Central Drug Research Institute, India; an MSc degree in Chemistry from Indian Institute of Technology (IIT), Kanpur, India and an MBA degree from University of Alberta, Edmonton, Canada.
Dr. Tewari believes in sustainable living and holistic learning and development for a healthy life; therefore, she is passionate about integrating teaching, research, business, and industrial knowledge amongst students which helps them developing a coherent understanding of science and technology. She has always been enthusiastic to implement hands-on skills with students as there is no better way to understand than experiential learning.Â
