
Mr. Prokash Day
Mr. Prokash Day (prokashd@nsric.ca) is the lecturer in the area of Petroleum Engineering at Engineering Unit of OE Division, NSRIC. He accomplished his graduation degree in the field of Petroleum and Mining Engineering from Shahjalal University of Science and Technology, Sylhet, Bangladesh. He started his career as Production Officer in a Cosmetics & Toiletries Co. right after his graduation in 2014 and involved producing Soap, Shampoo, Hair Oil, Hand Wash, Detergent etc. In 2015, he moved to a Lubricant manufacturing industry named Basumati Oasis Petroleum Industry Ltd. After the completion of one year as Assistant Chemist he was promoted into Production Engineer. Moreover, Mr. Dey enhanced his skill in Lubricating oil analysis, formulation, production and development as per API and SAE’s manufacturing guidelines. Further, he acquired deep knowledge to produce mono grade, multigrade lube oil and grease and their required testing method as per ASTM.Â
Moreover, Mr. Dey has also experience to work in a popular UK’s cosmetics brand The Body Shop Bangladesh to lead their regulatory Affairs team. Additionally, He bagged two successful achievements of used Lubricant recycling (Vacuum Distillation) plant and multipurpose Lithium Grease plant erection. Mr. Dey’s fields of expertise cover lubrication, lubricant and grease manufacturing (automotive and industrial grade), distillation, oil analysis, plant installation at present concentrating on a case study of cost effective waste oil recycling to reduce environmental damage to the perspective of Bangladesh.Â
