
Prof. M. Rafiqul Islam
Prof. M. Rafiqul Islam (at mrislam@nsric.ca) is the Vice President (VP) of acquisition and dissemination of knowledge (ADK) division at NSRIC. In addition, he is one of the lead researchers at our research, innovation, and development (RID) division. Prof. Islam is known as world’s most published engineer, with nearly 800 books and research publications to his credit. He is currently the President of Emertec Research and Development Ltd., a company he co-founded in the late 1980’s. Previously, he spent over 30 years as Professor, Research Chair and Director for various Universities, including Killam Chair at Dalhousie University and NR Can Professor at University of Regina, both being first time appointments in the history of Canada.
Prof. Islam has secured over US$30 million research funding in his credit over 30+ years of professional career. He is recognized as one of the most successful researchers in the field of petroleum engineering. the most In recognition of his research and teaching excellence, he has received a number of international awards, including Einstein Gold Medal of Honor, Kapitsa Gold Medal, and Crown and Eagle Gold Medal for all of which Dr. Islam is the first recipient in Canada. Currently, he is working as one of the key researchers at our RID division in addition to his VP – University projects.
