Legal Expert and VP
Professor Anowar Zahid is the Vice President of the NSRIC Conferences and Publications Division. He is also heading the Liberal Arts and Social Sciences (LAS) Unit of the Online Education Division. At the same time, he acts as a legal expert for the NSRIC immigration and visa consulting (NIVC) team. With a long time university teaching and research experience in Bangladesh and Malaysia, Professor Zahid received his PhD from the University of Manchester (England), preceded by an LLM from Dalhousie University (Canada) and LLM, LLB (Honours) degrees from the University of Dhaka. He also received a Certificate in International Alternative Dispute Resolution from the Institute of International Commercial Law, Pace University, New York. Professor Zahid is an Associate Member of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators (CIArb, UK). At this moment, Dr Zahid is on leave from Eastern University, Bangladesh where he has served as a professor and the Dean of the Faculty of Law. As an expert in international commercial and Islamic law, Professor Zahid has extensively published in various acclaimed international journals, such as European Business Law Review, Suffolk University Law Review, Arab Law Quarterly, Journal of East Asia and International Law, US-China Law Review, International Journal of Civil Society Law, International Journal of Business and Society, International and Comparative Corporate Law Journal, and Company Lawyer. He has co-authored a book titled Legislative Desk Book (Dhaka: Ministry of Law, Justice and Parliamentary Affairs, October 2021). He is a co-editor of the book called Law, Regulation and Practice of Islamic Finance with Particular Reference to Malaysia (Bangi (Malaysia): UKM Publishers, 2021). Professor Zahid was the Editor of the Eastern University Journal. He is now serving as a member of the editorial boards of the Journal of the Centre for Research in Law and Development in Asia, and also Lampung Journal of International Law (LaJIL). Professor Zahid is a recipient of an Honourable Mention Award from Shudhijon, a Socio-Cultural organization of Bangladesh, in recognition of his contribution to legal education.
