Dr. Amit Verma is the Head of Department in the area of Tourism. He is also the Senior Faculty in Tourism at Commerce and Management (COM) Unit of OE Division, NSRIC. Dr. Amit Verma is Academic Director at HTMi Switzerland Dubai, and he has 16+ years of experience in the Academic and Tourism industry. He has 11 years of experience in the Higher Education industry in India, Singapore, Uzbekistan, and UAE. He has worked with Amity University Dubai, Skyline University Sharjah, Management Development Institute of Singapore, Uzbekistan, SIBMR Lucknow University. Dr. Verma has been the visiting lecturer for Bangor and Sunderland University, UK. He has extensive experience in Airlines, Hotels, Destination Management Companies and Online Travel companies like Austrian Airlines, TAJ Hotel, Crowne Plaza, Make my trip, and Carlson Wagonlit Travel respectively. His latest academic qualification is Executive-GMP, a General Management Program from IIM-Ahmedabad.
Dr. Amit Verma has contributed to the Emiratization plan effectively in Dubai and managed the project of the Ajman Tour guide Training program and initiated the Tour guide license framework in the capacity of Head of Department in Skyline University. He has been instrumental in the publication of development initiatives of Fujairah in coordination with the Fujairah Tourism & Antiquities Authority. He has achieved awards for successful administration of several training programs like the IATA Top performer Award, ACCA Gold status award. He is an active researcher with a keen interest in Technological Innovation in the Tourism industry and presented more than 20+ papers focusing on Cultural Tourism, Smart cities, Robotics, Artificial Intelligence, Virtual Reality, IoT, and other innovation-based solutions of the Tourism and Hospitality Industry.
He has written a book chapter focused on Diversity and Inclusion and Blockchain and is an editor of an upcoming book AI in service Industry by NOVA Publication USA.
