Dr. Pankaj Tewari is the Head of Department (HoD) in area of Soil, Water, Environment, and Climate Change. He is also the Distinguished Faculty in Soil, Water, Environment, and Climate Change (SWE) at Science Department in OE Division. Dr. Tewari is passionate about teaching and innovative research that has potential to solve climate change problems. During his 25+ years of professional career, he has worked with topmost fortune-500 companies and several world renowned academic institutions. Currently, he is working as a research scholar at the University of Waterloo, Canada and engaged in low-cost sustainable living and food-water-energy nexus research in the middle east region. Dr. Tewari has a diversified academic and research experience, which encompasses natural sciences, management and social sciences research areas. He has worked as a consultant and held several academic, research and administrative portfolios at ConocoPhillips, Canada; University of Montreal, Canada; CANMET Energy, Natural Resources Canada; Max Planck Institute of Molecular Physiology, Germany; Fraunhofer Institute for Environmental, Safety, and Energy Technology, Germany; and Amity University, India; and City University of New York, USA. Dr. Tewari holds an MBA degree with specialization in ‘Natural Resources Energy and Environment’ from University of Alberta, Edmonton, Canada, and a PhD degree in Analytical Chemistry from Indian Institute of Technology (IIT), Delhi, India. He has delivered numerous keynote speeches in various conferences globally. He holds a US patent and has published several research articles in peer-reviewed journals spanning across targeted drug delivery systems, wastewater and industrial effluent treatment, nanoparticles in catalysis applications, chelating polymers, and hydrogels for heavy metal removal from contaminated water.


Dr. Tewari has also managed projects in various other interdisciplinary areas e.g., renewable energy, biochar, bio-diluents, carbon management, energy efficiency, geothermal energy, nano-capsules, CCS and LCA studies of oil sands in Alberta, Canada.
