Prof. Ghareb M. Hamada is the Associate Vice President (AVP) at Engineering (ENG) Unit of Online Education (OE) Division. In addition, Prof. Hamada is the Distinguished Professor in the area of Petroleum Engineering under ENG Unit. Currently, he is also the Professor of Petroleum Engineering, and the Dean of College of Engineering, The American University of Kurdistan, Kurdistan, Iraq. Prof. Hamada has long teaching and research experience in the Middle East, Gulf Region, South Asia and Europe such as Cairo University, Egypt; United Arab Emirates University, UAE; Petronas Technical University, Malaysia and Technical University of Copenhagen, Denmark. His research interests are mainly formation evaluation & petrophysics, production logging, petrophysical properties of unconventional reservoirs and artificial intelligence applications in formation evaluation & petrophysics. Prof. Hamada has more than 150 papers published in referred scientific journals and presented at technical conferences and author of two books in Well Logging and Formation Evaluation. Hamada holds BS and MS in petroleum engineering from Cairo University, Egypt and DEA and.
D’Ingenieur in applied geophysics from Bordeaux University-I, France. He is a member of SPE, SPWLA and SCA.
